As a long time eczema sufferer I have not had the luxury of having much success with fad products and raving about certain items as of when they come out. I have a few (and safe) staple items which I can not be without albeit on holiday or anywhere else these are my holy grail items. They have worked out for me for years and the simplicity is definitely paying off for me now that I have hit the age where how my skin looks ‘matters’.
Firstly to start I can not even attempt to move forward without removing ALL off my make up. I have heard sleeping with make up on quickens the aging process by 2 weeks, if you are to lax on anything do not let it be removing your make up. The way I see it if you have washed your makeup off and wipe your face with a flannel and a bit of make up is on it, you go back and wash your make up off until there is nothing. To help this process I use oil based makeup removers. I do not usually fuss over which brand as I do alternate between Mac, Garnier, L’oreal and currently am using the Sephora brand. Personally I like the Garnier waterproof remover simply because it rarely ever leaves residue, removes waterproof make up without much effort, and most importantly it does not leave my skin feeling dry straight after.

Tip: Do not use an oil based make up remover when tidying up the edges of your eye make up or fall out; it just makes such a mess for even the most disciplined of hands.
Cleansing is intrinsic for my skin, usually I would reach out for Garnier cleaners I’ve recently opted for the Superdrug B Pure brand micellar water, and in the past year or so they have become very popular with Bioderma micellar water amongst other brands have now allowed a more competitive, cost effective and safe equivalent on the market. THANK YOU Superdrugs. As well as cleansing this does tone the skins PH balance. This product prides itself on being gentle and it most definitely is and works very well, my skin is not left with a burning or stinging sensation or drying feeling. If anything it feels refreshed, which I do not get with most mainstream well marketed cleansers.

Tip: How I cleanse my skin; repeat cleansing process until the cotton pad has nothing on it pressing the pads in an upward motion to not overstretch the skin.
As far as toners go; to feel a toner would only work if it leaves me with that refreshed minty feeling straight afterwards, I have no idea as to why. After being converted from the clinique toner for which I used for years it felt it just stripped my skin from it’s natural oils as well as just being too harsh for my skin. As clean as my skin felt it left me always rushing to moisturize my skin. I read good reviews on the this product and have been loyal to it ever since. It left me with the same refreshed feeling, completely minimised clogged pore issues such as blackheads and blemishes. It is very unlikely would I change this product for anything else.

Tip: Like all products though you would need to use this product often in order for it to actually work, the smell of tea is tree may be overwhelmingly strong if it is not your cup of tea.
Also regular facials make the world of difference I also suffer from the odd melia spots and if you find a good esthetician hold onto them for dear life, get a deep facial (nothing too abrasive on the skin) quarterly it has helped my skin so much.
To moisturise my skin I have taken my skin regime back to basics and this was advised to me by another friend who also suffers from eczema. But believe it or not I moisturize my skin with *drum rolls please* E45 cream. The no frills basic E45 pot I prefer the tubey version. I use this every morning as my day moisturiser equivalent it has no smell, locks in enough moisture for the day and absorbs into my skin so well, it does not dry my skin at all; it really just does what it says on the tin. I spare no expenses for anything that would go on my face and I do love fancy schmancy products but the fact that it is perfect for my skin and economic it just is the biggest plus.

Before bed I use pure natural Moroccan argan oil. (the real one) I know it might seem a bit far fetched to obtain but I know amazon, ebay and selfridges also sells their version. If and when I find reliable sources online I would be sure to link them to the picture.

With argan oil originally sourced from south of Moroccan it is rich in vitamin A and E and fatty acids and antioxidants. Virgin argan oil works for me as it absorbs into my skin so well without leaving any oily residue. And if that isn’t enough it’s great for acne also, reduce inflammation and irritation on skin and it is anti aging. It can be used as an all over body moisteriser, and fantastic for stretch marks. To me it’s a miracle oil.
Tip: I do not recommend using this during the day and then going out in the sun. I am no dermatologist but any oil without SPF and sun would not be advisable.
